The Courier this year celebrates its 100th year of publication as an independent, local newspaper, and to mark the occasion today's issue contains a special lift out.
The North Western Courier was launched in January 1913, following the merger of the Narrabri Herald and the Narrabri Age.
The first issue of the new title was published on January 7, 1913.
Today The Courier includes a special feature supplement to mark our first 100 years.
The publication is not a history of Narrabri and the district, but rather a compilation of pictures from the photo negative archives of The Courier, which date back to the 1920s.
Thanks go to contributors who have submitted their own historic photos for inclusion in today’s feature, and thanks to historian John Brooks for his encyclopaedic timeline of events included in the feature.
Thanks to our readers and advertisers who have continued to support The Courier over the past 100 years. We look forward to the next 100!
See today's Courier for your copy of our Centenary supplement!
