
A huge Movember extravaganza was held at the Tourist Hotel, all afternoon and into the night, on Saturday November 30, including an auction which raised $4600, with around 26 items kindly donated by Narrabri business houses.
During the day the activities began with a cake stall, a jumping castle, games, and a barbeque lunch.
The theme for the evening was ‘anything goes’ and the crowd of over 220 people dressed accordingly.
Making appearances was Chopper Read, Mark Page (Pagey), the Three Musketeers, the Three Amigos, the Duff Beer man, Wonder Woman, pilots, hippies, bushrangers, French maids and policemen.
Justin Smith was the auctioneer, Vikki Pettican was the main organiser, and Ash Watt was the MC.
The winners of the awards were the following, ‘Best Moustache’ was Matt Tubner, the ‘Peoples Choice’ was Peter Verwey, the ‘Would Be Could Be’ was Tom Carberry, the ‘Most Inventive’ was Bruce Bushby, Miss Movember was Marrisa Davidson, Best Female Costume was Nicol Bateman and Best Male Costume was Jay Godden.
