(NSWAA) held its annual conference at Narrabri’s Crossing Theatre last week.
People working directly and indirectly with the bee industry travelled from around the state to attend the event.
Lectures and reports relating to research on honeybees were also presented.
The two-day conference had around 70 people in attendance over the two days.
Vice president of the NSWAA, Rob Michie, said the event was productive and informative, with many worthwhile components covered.
“There has been a wide range of topics covered this year, from bees and coal seam gas through to bee-keeping and social media,” he
said.
“We decided to hold our event here in Narrabri as the facilities are top notch and we always like coming back to this part of the country.”
Dr Shona Blair, founder of Wheen Bee Foundation, travelled from Sydney for the conference, and said that she would take away plenty of knowledge from the event.
“It was great to be surrounded with so many like-minded people,” she said.
“Like farmers the recent drought has affected the bee industry, with many bee-keepers going through a tough period.
“The conference is a great opportunity for us to share ideas and talk strategy with fellow intellects.”
