While many in the community were enjoying a sleep in or watching the Socceroos World Cup game on a cool and wet morning last Saturday, Narrabri Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA)  members, including their newest recruits, were deep into a training session at VRA HQ in Mooloobar Street. The VRA  is a long established organisation which has played a vital role in community and personal emergency situations for decades. The VRA is fortunate to have some veteran members, with long experience and expertise in the sometimes confronting challenges they have volunteered to take on.  But it is important to bring new members into the group to keep the continuity of expertise and experience.
“We are always keen to hear from people interested in joining the VRA” said director of training, Harvey Black. “And we have recently been pleased to have several new trainees join us.” Training is held each week and the special weekend’s training included high structure rescue exercises.
