NEW BUSINESS: The former Crazy Clark’s will be re-opened as a new discount store next month.||
A new discount business operator has moved quickly to fill the vacant store left by the recently closed Crazy Clark’s in Maitland street, Narrabri.
The new store will open in late September, spokesman Mr Alan Hartl told The Courier today.
Mr Hartl said staff previously employed by Crazy Clark’s would be offered re-engagement at the new store.
“We are traditional discount store operators with a long history in these businesses,” Mr Hartl said.
“The new store will be exactly the same kind of business as was previously there,” said Mr Hartl.
“It will be a discount variety store, but we will be bringing new product lines as well.”
Mr Hartle said he was excited to be opening in Narrabri.
“I have been in the industry for well over 30 years. We are bringing a lot of experience.
“We have a store in Lismore and have taken over one at Roma and we are looking at a site at Charleville.
“And we see great opportunities in Narrabri.
“We are very impressed with the town,” he added.
“When we drove in we saw the Aquatic Centre, The Crossing Theatre, we saw there was a big boxing tournament on the weekend, the oval looks like a miniature MCG, and the visitor  information centre is like something we would see at a centre like Rockhampton.”
“It will be business as usual, but we are going to bring discounting back to Narrabri bigger and better than ever before with a fantastic range of products at low prices,” said Mr Hartl.
The former Crazy Clark’s premises will be given a makeover.
“We think the Crazy Clarks business has been mismanaged.
“When we walked in to the Narrabri store, I saw the old checkout counter, there were old registers, there has evidently not been any investment in the business.  The store is being repainted and freshened up and and we want to put life back into it.
“We know what has been lacking in the business and the right kind of stock people want,” Mr Hartl said.
“People are going to be seeing a lot of products they haven’t seen there.”
