Four Coles staff members lost their locks on Friday - all for a good cause.
The supermarket has been raising money for RedKite and to buy a portable oxygen unit for Narrabri Community Health.
Four Coles employees volunteered to shave their head for the cause, including store manager Winus Winus, night fill manager Peter Tuckey, bakery manager Angela Strong and service supervisor Clare Gett.
A total of $3725 was raised, with $1025 going to RedKite and $2700 towards the cost of an oxygen unit.
“The Narrabri community has been fantastic with donations, everyone has come on board,” said administration manager Alison Hensley.
“Store manager Winus was the first to put up his hand to get his head shaved and the others followed, we’ve appreciated all the support.”
A crowd gathered at Coles on Friday to watch hairdresser Jess Brown shave the four heads one by one, with Angela Strong opting for a ‘number two’ cut.
The rest decided to have their hair completely shaved off.
“I just got a letter from the doctor saying I can’t get my head shaved,” joked Winus Winus, shortly before the clippers went to work.
The event began with a sausage sizzle to raise last-minute dollars towards the fundraiser.
