Preparing a big morning tea for local and visiting bowlers from across NSW on the weekend, Ellen Gleeson, Val Sevil, Christine Balderstone, (Uralla) Lyn Churchland, Val Malaisse (in chair) Beryl Hamel (Armidale) Liz Wynne (Nyngan) Wendy Kennett, Denise Wilkins, Sue Gleeson, Lyn Torrens (Forbes) Margaret Guest, Anne Neil, Vicky Frater, Sheryl Barnes and Marion Maclean.||
About 100 bowlers from Narrabri and the district and centres across NSW took to the greens at Narrabri Bowling Club on Saturday for the Maurice Gleeson memorial bowls day.
Narrabri cancer support group, Can Assist and the NSW Cancer Council were beneficiaries of funds raised.
A feature of the bowls tournament was the big morning tea laid on for the bowlers and guests in the clubhouse.
The Biggest Morning Tea is nowadays a well established national annual cancer support fund raiser and Saturday’s smorgasbord of goodies must have been one of the biggest, with a super spread of the local ladies’ cooking skills.
