Narrabri West Public School’s annual fete, held last Friday night, has been declared its best yet.
The event raised more than $12,000 profit.
“We’ve done better than any other year, we think it’s one of our best crowds in years and the weather was definitely wonderful for that,” said event organiser Katrina Bell.
Kids young and old enjoyed a variety of rides, which catered for the big range of age groups.
“There were six rides and we catered for the big kids and the little kids, plus we had a haunted house and a preschool jumping castle,” said Katrina.
There were over 20 stalls including an animal nursery, face painting, cake stalls, plant stalls and a bottle stall - which is always a crowd favourite.
“That’s where the kids donate glass jars that are filled with lollies and things like that, and raffle tickets match a particular bottle, it’s a big winner,” said Katrina.
The school held a Friday the 13th mufti day, which some kids chose to also wear to the night event.
“Some continued to wear it at night, as well as a few of the stall holders and other helpers for the fete dressed up,” said Katrina.
Mini donuts, snow cones and fairy floss were the food items of choice among the bumper crowd.
