BREAKING NEWS:
2pm: At the time of going to print a large section of Narrabri’s CBD was being shut off after a gas leak inside Coles.
The leak has forced the closure of several intersections and has included the evauation of Narrabri Public School to a nearby park.
Emergency services including Fire and Rescue NSW, HAZMAT and police are on the scene.
Fire and Rescue NSW says the problem relates to a “gas cylinder venting”.
A 300 metre exclusion zone has been put in place and the area is being
evacuated as a precaution, Fire and Rescue NSW says.
Road closures included a large section of Maitland Street.
