Ready for Saturday’s Nosh on the Namoi, committee members Peta Pritchard, with The Courier Cook Off trophy, Grace Farrer in her Nosh signature tomato outfit and Tahnee Laycock, one of The Courier Cook Off contestants, with barbecue tongs at the ready.||
The gates open at the Nosh on the Namoi at 10.30 on Saturday morning and the bar in the Nosh marquee closes at midnight.
In between is a day packed with food, wine and fun - and a fireworks display at 8pm.
Thousands of visitors are expected to throng the lawns of The Crossing Theatre for the 12th annual Nosh.
The welcome rain will have freshened the lawns somewhat, and has considerably added to the optimistic atmosphere across the district.
“And the Nosh is on as normal whatever the weather” said Nosh committee president Robyn Smith. “We have plenty of marquees - but we are looking forward to blue skies anyway.”
“This year we have a fantastic response from exhibitors, well over 40, bringing the best of local and regional produce to the Nosh on the Namoi” said Robyn.
Exhibitors and stalls will feature everything from condiments to craft. Every kind of food will be available.
Local businesses have strongly supported the Nosh this year.
“And we have an exciting program of entertainment and new features” said Robyn.
A movie making interactive workshop for kids will be a first, and is expected to be a big hit.
Nosh on the Namoi kicks off with the Nosh Eve dinner on Friday, planned to be alfresco, but  which will be moved into The Crossing Theatre auditorium if needed.
The annual Courier Cook Off will be staged under the big marquee, with MC Shanna Rowland at the microphone.
This year the inaugural home brew competition will be launched with 20 entries, under the stewardship of Ash Carolan.
The day’s events will lead into evening refreshments in the big marquee where the Nosh bar will be open until midnight.
Background music from visiting and local bands and musicians will provide the background to day and evening activities.
