Hundreds of parents and their children flocked to the Narrabri Boarding Schools Expo at The Crossing Theatre on Friday and Saturday.
Expo CEO Meg Bennett was pleased with the big attendance and level of interest which drew potential students, and their parents from the Narrabri shire and throughout the north west.
The Expo gives parents and students a unique opportunity to explore many boarding school options, meet boarding staff and have all their questions answered as they prepare to choose the most suitable school.
The Crossing Theatre auditorium was filled with stalls and staff representing 35 institutions ranging from co-ed to boys’ and girls’, agricultural colleges, regional and metropolitan boarding schools across NSW and Queensland.
“The Crossing Theatre is such a great venue for the Expo,” said Meg.
“People like to come here and we love to hold the Expo here - the facilities are great.”
This year’s Narrabri Expo included Queensland boarding schools for the first time.
Namoi Isolated Children’s Parents Association (ICPA),which promotes the interests of students across the Narrabri Shire and to the west, is a supporter of the Expo.
Immediate past president of the Namoi ICPA, David Cameron, said the Expo was a valuable event for parents and the ICPA.
“We support all systems of education, public and private, which give the best outcomes for our children,” he said.
The Narrabri Expo was the final in the current year following other regional events at Wagga and Dubbo.
