
The mayor, Cr Conrad Bolton, was re-elected for a second 12 month term at today’s meeting of Narrabri Shire Council.
The mayor’s position was contested by the former mayor, Cr Robyn Faber.
In a secret ballot, Cr Bolton recorded seven votes and Cr Faber four votes.
Narrabri Shire’s new deputy mayor is Cr Cathy Redding, who won the post six votes to five in a ballot with Cr Maxine Booby.
The former deputy mayor, Cr Bevan O’Regan, did not nominate as a candidate.
Cr O’Regan has been an elected councillor since June 1982 and has served as mayor and deputy in his local government career.
Cr Bolton was elected to Narrabri Shire Council in 2004 and Cr Redding in 2007.
